Who in your opinion should have received the award?

A Polish Woman

This is about Irena Sendler - a Polish woman ... but I'm not going to tell you any more . Go to these two web sites, watch, listen and read.

After viewing the video, go here to Snopes and read the story.

Who in your opinion should have received the award? In mine it should have been Irena.

That's pretty sad isn't it? I understand global warming is a current topic, and it seems anyway that Al Gore started talking about it awhile back, but hello....the woman should have won!

Irena was a very brave and courageous woman. I'm sure many remember her and love her for all she did for them. Putting her life on the line to save and protect them, how could they ever forget her? No Nobel Peace Prize could make them love her anymore.

Ecclesiastes 7:1 says: "A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born." And why is that? Because you had a lifetime of building up a fine name for yourself...and that can be a life for either good or bad, which ever we choose to make it. I would say she build up a good life, by her work of saving other peoples...The Nobel Prize would only be secondary to her life's work...And yes it would have been nice if she would have won the prize, but she was the prize...

WELL, the links don't seem to work for me. They do not click. I will try again, later, Patty. I am really curious to see and read it now, especially after Ann's comment.

Have a good night.

Dear Renie, I fixed it so you can click the site and go there, before you had to copy and paste into your browser.

For once, I think I'll stay neutral and not take sides on this one :) But I will say that I am most impressed with the generosity and tenacity of this humanitarian lady. I never heard her name before although I knew of Schindler (because of the movie). I suspect there were many regular people who performed heroic acts during the War, but we'll probably never know.
