As Fall brings us new art exhibits . . . . .

Here are some quotes that focus on art...

Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.- Pablo Picasso

Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.- Leonardo da Vinci

Every creator painfully experiences the chasm between his inner vision and its ultimate expression.- Isaac Bashevis Singer

Painting is easy when you don't know how, but very difficult when you do.- Edgar Degas

Take me! I am the hallucinogenic!- Salvador Dali

But enjoyed them all. Thanks Patty for sharing those.

These are very interesting. I enjoyed reading them. I had an acquaintance who was a fantastic artist. He did some of the work for the National Cathedral, and also did that amazingly brilliant sculpture at the Vietnam Memorial. He died of a heart attack several years ago and I remember thinking what a tragic loss it was. An artist sees the world in the way no one else can. It can't be simply copied by someone else. And when that vision is gone it can't be replaced.

So I guess I lean more towards the "dipping into the soul" comment than Warhol's "It's just a job"!!
