ABE GOT HOME THIS AFTERNOON, DOCTOR SAID HE THINKS THE LUNG IS COATED GOOD THIS TIME, BUT STILL THERE IS NO GUARANTEES. NOTHING WE CAN DO TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. NOTHING HE CAN DO TO MAKE THAT LUNG STRONGER. I ASKED ABOUT REHAB LIKE I DID WHEN I HAD SARCOIDOSIS OF MY LUNGS AND HE SAID THAT WOULDN'T BENEFIT HIM. SO WE ARE HOPING THIS IS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR ABE, COATING THE LUNG WITH SOMETHING THEY CALL TALC. THEY COATED IT THIS PAST MONDAY AND AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR WELL WISHES, COMMENTS AND PRAYERS.

Oh I'm so glad Abe is home, and you won't have to be trapsing off the the hospital in such cold weather.

Maybe if he just relaxes in his recliner, and sips hot chocolate he'll get stronger. Please tell him he doesn't need to blog...he needs to get his strength back.

We will all be waiting to read his wonderful posts when the time comes... Just enjoy Christmas as best you can with all that's going on.

Love and Hugs

I am home. I sat/laid in bed for hours, days, weeks and never saw the sky. Heard noises all hours of the day. I had tests of all kinds at all hours of the day and night and I met so many fabulous people who share their skills in making people well that it made me believe that there are many who do so much for so little because they like their jobs.

I cannot say that I liked low salt food menus but I am learning to like it. I also found that a meal of fruit and juice filled me up and was more satisfying than a plate of fried meat and potatoes.

And I gave my coffee up altogether. No longer do I drink it or maybe half of cup of decalf. I think this hospital experience changed my life for the better. But I still have countless weak spots on my lungs and while I hope no more break, the doctors think they will.

I don't look forward to another long hospital stay.

'Talc' sounds dry and dusty and not soothing at all, but if it's working that's great.

Dear Patty ~~ I am so glad that Abe is home and pray that the talc will prevent any further collapse of his lung. I hope you both have a lovely Christmas and a nice quiet recovery time for you both. Much love, Merle.
