Happy Birthday President Lincoln

Quotes from Abraham Lincoln, whose birthday is today, February 12th...

Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it.

I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal.

I am rather inclined to silence, and whether that be wise or not, it is at least more unusual nowadays to find a man who can hold his tongue than to find one who cannot.

Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

All I am, or can be, I owe to my angel mother.

As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing.

Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in.

In this sad world of ours, sorrow comes to all; and, to the young, it comes with bitterest agony, because it takes them unawares.

If you are resolutely determined to make a lawyer of yourself, the thing is more than half done already."

The man does not live who is more devoted to peace than I am. None who would do more to preserve it.

A woman is the only thing I am afraid of that I know will not hurt me.

Reminding you to learn a bit about Lincoln, one of America’s greatest presidents and thinkers.

Dont knw if its about physicla hurt is being pointed out or not but woman acn hurt mentally, putting some1 into complete asylum and can make suffer from Mental Tsunami by some highly intensified Emotional Terrorism. BUT thats entirely my personal opinion, every one have their own and i respect every one's even if i disagree.

Have a nice time

I especially liked the one about keeping silent. I try to do that many times myself.

Those were quite interesting quotes. I had never heard this one before, "A woman is the only thing I am afraid of that I know will not hurt me."

He was a smart man!!! We could use one like him today in the White House! They don't make them like him anymore, that's for sure!!! Aren't you proud that your hubby is related to such a great man!!! I consider that quite an honor, as I'm sure Abe does.
