Rex Barker here with

Friday's QUOTES THAT MAKE YOU THINK.

This week we focus on the ultimate Winter Sport (and one of my personal favorites) - SKIING...

There are really only three things to learn in skiing: how to put on your skis, how to slide downhill, and how to walk along the hospital corridor.- Lord Mancroft

Skiing is a dance, and the mountain always leads.- Anonymous

Stretch pants - the garment that made skiing a spectator sport.- Anonymous

Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, since to remain constantly at work will cause you to lose power of judgment. Go some distance away because a lack of harmony or proportion is more readily seen.- Leonardo da Vinci

I now realize that the small hills you see on ski slopes are formed around the bodies of forty-seven-year-olds who tried to learn snowboarding.- Dave Barry

If you don’t ski, don’t bother - Colorado bumper sticker

Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.- Steven Wright

The sensual caress of waist deep cold smoke.... glory in skiing virgin snow, in being the first to mark the powder with the signature of their run.- Tim Cahill

Skiing is the only sport where you spend an arm and a leg to break an arm and a leg.- Anonymous

I do not participate in any sport with ambulances at the bottom of the hill.- Erma Bombeck

Skiing combines outdoor fun with knocking down trees with your face.- Dave Barry

Frustration is when the same snow that covers the ski slopes makes the roads to get there impassable.- James Holt McGavran

This is Rex Barker and me (Patty) wishing you a beautiful winter weekend.

The Dave Berry and Erma Bombeck are very funny. I always enjoyed reading her books!

I liked the first one: "three things to learn in skiing." My kids loved to ski, and had many exciting times at the ski resort that was located about 15 miles from our home back in Maryland. I personally agree with Erma Bombeck, "I never participate in any sport with ambulances at the bottom of the hill."

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Erma was a hoot! I got to see the area she lived in once, while visiting a friend in Arizona. These quotes were funny!

I only ever went on two skiing holidays twice in my life, way back in my early 20s. Both holidays I ended up facing my fears, once crashing through a fence at the bottom of the run. Never broke any bones but came close to it. My skiing instructors always yelled at me because I couldn't keep my balance, and so that was the end of my skiing as I hate being yelled at ;) I haven't been on a pair of skiis since. Great, great quotes, I'm sending this to my SIL and family who go on their skiing holidays every year and love it.

Never experienced skiing... how sad is that? Not to worry, I enjoyed the fun post nevertheless.
Sorry you have messed your page design and now regret it. I did the same, I am such a messer and can't leave well alone. I still keep tweaking at it.
Catch up with you later, have a good Sunday.
Love Granny

Ha, ha, ha.. I am a bad skier myself, even if I have never broken anything, I can still say: I spent an arm and a leg to almost break an arm and a leg..
