Wouldn't you like to do this just once?

STUNNING SENIOR MOMENT
A very self-important college freshman attending a recent football game took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

'You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one,' the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. 'The young people of today are much more advanced than people your age.

We grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon and the internet.

We have cell phones, nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers, automated manufacturing, amazing technologies, and.....,' pausing to take another drink of beer.

The senior took advantage of the break in the student's litany and said, 'You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young..... so we invented them.

Now, you arrogant little sh**, what are YOU doing for the next generation?'

The applause was resounding..

I received this from a young 88 year old lady.

Maybe that's where we went wrong - if we hadn't made life so easy for the next generation, they'd have to do a bit more thinking for themselves!

Another funny one, Patty.

Oh that's great.

We did grow up in a different owrld but I'm not sure it was such a bad one. Although we didn't have as much materially maybe we were happier. We had more freedom to roam the fields and woods, to play outside and invent our own games. I certainly didn't feel deprived despite rationing of sweets and chocolate! Not sure all these computers, phones and games are really that good for children for their social development or their creativity. Think they may have more problems in future with repetitive strain injuries too.

It certainly wasn't such a greedy world either!

I agree with jinksy, we did make this generation spoiled by all the new fanged gadgets and have allowed them to become a generation of butt sitters. Nice post, hope your weekend is a good one. Thanks for coming by.

Right on! The older generation didn't have all the gadgets and conveniences, they only had their brains to amuse them!

Have a good night, Patty!

That was excellent reply.
You know many times I think God has created Air/Sun/Moon/Earth/Sky and many such only once and it is for all of us. Then why we divided what we discover.
I never say : We invent.
We only discover. God The only inventor.

Funny! Us seniors must have done something right to make such a nice world for this generation.

I'm so glad I found your blog. It's lots of fun and I can relate to you. I've seen a lot of changes in my 59 years. Anyway, I'm happy to follow your blog.
