Fly those flags and be proud.

Flags and more Flags

We have a little less than two weeks and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America.

If you forward this e-mail to at least 11 people and each of those people do the same ... you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM:

On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies.. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity.. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

So, here's what we need you to do:

(1) Forward this e-mail to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11, and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day..

Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America!

P.S. Doctor's appointment went just fine. Everything checked out ok. Go back in 6 months. I saw Joyce the Physician's Helper today, but in six months I will see the doctor. I will be seeing the doctor or helper every six months until I am no longer on Femera.

Also my eye is doing great, still can't believe how well I can see with it, can hardly wait to get the other eye done.

It seems sad that we have to have a tragedy to make us fly our flag. After 9/11 there was such a run on flags that some stores ran out. Now they are far and few between.
We fly ours year round because we love the USA!
Sunny :)
P.S. Glad your visit to the doctor went okay.

I'm ashamed to say that I needed this reminder. I have a flag and pole, but no place to put it. I've got 10 days to fix that problem. Thanks, Patty.

We always display our flaf, every day. It is hard to believe that eight years has past since that awful day. Thank you Patty for reminding us all.

Most people around here always fly the flag September 11th, including me. People in this rural, hill country are mostly conservative, and very patriotic. Can't believe 8 years have passed since that terrible day!

I am so glad your report was good, Patty.

I am sporting a mighty injured right eye, since Sunday evening. A small rock, propelled by a lawn mower (Greg was cutting the field) hit my eye, believe it or not. I spent Monday with the eye doctor, and will have to see him again Friday, and several more times. My vision is fine, but there has been a lot of bleeding in the eye. Doctor says it will heal in a few weeks. So I am putting eye drops in, and wearing sun glasses when I go to town now. Eileen says I look like a celebrity! Yeah, right!

Greg feels bad about it, but it was my fault. I walked out to the field, and he didn't even see me. This after a beautiful Sunday.

Have a good night.

I love to fly a flag at my house. I don't generally do it on 9/11 though, and I don't know why! I will be sure to do it this year though, and from now on. It's a little hard to get to (I have to climb onto my roof a bit) and I won't leave it out after dark, so I don't put it out everyday, but I am going to do better getting it out there.

I am so happy that your eye surgery went well! Were you like my mom- surprised by the shade of some of your paint? :) I hope not! (I did try to warn her that lavender might not be such a great color in the living room!)
