Hard to believe it's been a whole week and me not posting something
Becky is doing just great. Still a little sore, they made one incision about 3 inches or so, then made about four or five smaller ones, and did the surgery with a robotic. They took her in around 1pm, she got to recovery around 4:45, and we finally got to see her around 7:15, but she was still pretty much out of it. She said she could hear us but she couldn't get her eyes to open like they should. Audrey, our 11 year old granddaughter came over with her Mom to pick me up and she said going home, I've never seen Becky laying down or looking like that. They had her completely flat. Her face was a little swollen, which they said could happen, since they have to tilt the table, head down. The surgeon told her the face might swell a little and her shoulders and neck might be sore for a couple of days. We were just so happy and relieved when they said the quick test they did on the tumor and lymph nodes were all clean. Now they will check further, by slicing the tumor into thin slices and checking each slice. He was able to save 2/3 of the kidney and said she shouldn't have any problems. We're just all so relived to know, so far, no cancer cells. And if there should be something show up, the surgeon said, they wouldn't have to do anything else, since the tumor had clean margins and the lymph nodes were all clean. Hope you all have a good Sunday.
