Visit with the Doctor

Finally no more visits

It was a year ago this past April 15th. that my radiation treatments were finished. Then I had to see the doctor every three months, while also seeing my oncologist every three months. Personally I thought this was rather silly, since both doctors were doing the same examine except the oncologist was doing blood work.

Today was a six month check up with the radiologist, and I once again reminded her I am seeing the oncologist every three months, so she agreed it is rather foolish to have two doctors doing basically the same thing. So I no longer have to see her unless I have a problem or question. She did tell me if the thickness at the incision site bothered me she could send me to a physical therapist, why was my question. No it doesn't bother me and it will eventually get softer. It won't be two years until this coming December that I had the lumpectomy. So that's one less doctor I will be seeing. THANK GOODNESS.

We left a little early so I could stop by and pick up my new driver's license. At least this time my eyes are open. But in five years I do look a lot older and more gray hair. I was surprised, I didn't realize it now cost $24.00 for that little license you carry in a wallet. But I'm set for five more years. Who knows maybe by then I won't need to get another, since I may not be driving. But I would have to live someplace where I could either take a taxi or bus.

We left here around 12:45, got home at 3:45. But I did set back in the examining room for an hour, and it was ice cold in there. Never have understood why you have to wait for an hour in the examining room if the appointments have been scheduled properly.

Hope everyone has a great evening and a wonderful week-end.

Sounds like you had a busy day, and I can't agree with you more, I don't know why they put us in that cold examining room for an hour or so. I have learned to carry a book with me and I read until they see me. Helps a little to pass the time, while I shiver away in my open down the back gown;)

Hi Patty,

I hate sitting in a cold examining room! And it's good if you don't have to see both doctors for now.

I renewed my drivers liscense last year and also have it for five years now. Yay! Oh, I like your new profile picture. Very cute!

Patty, I am having a problem "Following" anyone. I have tried and tried and just get an error message. Will try and find out why, but I did read in blogger that the widget won't work for everyone at this time. Bummer.I hate that it won't. Thank you for being one of my followers. I really appreciate it, and hope to be yours, soon.

Greg is here for the weekend, and will be finishing up some of the cleaning up around here from Ike. Plus he will get on the roof and clean the gutters!

Have a nice evening and a good night.

Love,

Renie

I don't understand that waiting when I have an appointment either, anywhere. All the while I'm sitting I think if I had been late they would have had a fit or made me reschedule.

Fortunately you don't have to visit one of the doctors. It takes always a lot of time to see a doctor. I don't know why but they are never on time. I always have to go to Rotterdam and it takes me half a day to see the specialist.

That's great, Mrs. L. I know it's a relief to you to cross that visit off your list.

That's wonderful news, Patty. Congratulations. Having to go to the Dr. is no fun under any circumstance. I'm glad that you are being relieved of some of the visits (and waiting). Hugs, Cindy
