Sadly a British soldier and his dog were killed together recently in Afghanistan. The soldier had a huge funeral but I wondered what had happened to his dog. Sadly nobody mentioned it.
I wonder what Gordon Lee's dog was named? They both died together in Vietnam and Gordon Lee is the "The Wall" in Washington, D.C.. I wish I knew what his name was as he should be on this monument too.
I know God made it possible for us to love an animal. It seems like they can love us back.No telling how many soldiers lives these dogs have saved before they died doing what they were trained for.I bet it still made some big tough as nails Marines cry.

There's a memorial to the animals that died in war in the centre of London http://londondailyphoto.blogspot.com/2006/01/animal-vc-because-they-had-no-choice.html
