To my friends

~A HIDDEN PLACE~

Each of us has a hidden place
Somewhere deep within ourselves;

A place where we go to get away,
To think things through, to be alone,
to be ourselves.

This unique place, where we confront
our deepest feelings,

Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes,
all our needs,all our dreams,
And even our unspoken fears.

It encompasses the essence of who we
are and what we want to be.

But now and then, whether by chance or design,
Someone discovers a way into that place
we thought was ours alone.

And we allow that person to see, to feel
and to share all the reason,
all the uncertainty and all the emotion
we've stored up there.

That person adds new perspective
to our hidden realm,

Then quietly settles down in his own
corner of our special place,

Where a bit of himself will stay forever.
And we call that person
~~a friend~~

It's so true! A good friend is someone who laughs with you and cries with you. Somebody who understands.

Just doing a little visiting while everyone is still asleep. Beautiful sentiments and so true. I wish you all the same, Patti!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Your friend, Renie

That is so sweet. A true friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else. And it is so true, a friend seems to know more about us then we know about ourselves, sometimes.

I do like this and it reminds me that some of us think about time and our space just before going to sleep. Or at least I do.

That is a lovely piece, and true. It's sometimes difficult, though, to allow someone to "take up residence" in your life.

A joyous weekend (and Monday)to you and Mr. L.

Mighty true words Patty.
The first person I thought of was a surprise to me,a sometimes crabby neighbor! But a friend as well. Thanks for sharing. P.S. I sent it to him also.

Awww... those are very, very fine words Mrs. Lincoln. Yes, it is most wonderful when you can have that kind of closeness with someone that you will let them into your deepest and most private thoughts.
