UPDATE ON ABE

Went in to see him today, had lunch with him. He had called me before I left home to tell me they have decided to do the procedure AGAIN, putting the talc in through the chest tube. They want to make sure the lung is covered good. That will be tomorrow morning. So I would imagine that means they won't remove that chest tube until about Thursday, perhaps Friday. I look for him to come home either Friday or Saturday, possibly Sunday. They like for the patient to stay 24 hours after they remove the tube. So it's more or less wait and see after it gets removed.

I didn't go in yesterday. Gave him and myself a rest. When I was there Sunday he said, why don't you go ahead and go home, and I'll sleep. I told him to go to sleep with me there, I didn't mind. In fact I dozed off for a couple of minutes and then he was worried I might fall asleep driving home. I told him I don't fall sleep driving in the daytime. But driving at night, late is a different story.

It's been spitting snow and rain this afternoon, so by the time Melissa heads for home it will probably be icy. This might mean I won't be going into the hospital tomorrow, depending on what the roads are like. Going down I saw three sheriff's cars, not sure if there had been an accident or if they had this one car surrounded. Coming home, some more lights flashing, several police cars, but think that one was a car accident, they had the road blocked for people coming towards me, it was a divided highway. The hospital is only about a 30 minute drive from our house, and there are several different ways you can go, but the one way (which I like, it seems the closest) daughter's keep saying, No Mom, that's not a save end of town. So I travel the other direction which to me seems to take a little longer.

Have a good evening. Thanks again for the prayers and well wishes. Hoping there is a good Christmas Movie on TV tonight.

Hello sweet Patty ~~
I see from the weather reports that you have it bad back there.

I pray your trips to the hospital will be safe.

I hope you get some good rest tonight, and yes, I hope there is a good old Christmas Movie on...

My prayers and good wishes continue for Abe and you as well, Patty. Be careful driving, if you have to drive. We have 3 inches of sleet covering everything, so I am housebound until Thursday, when things will warm up, according to the weather report.

Get lots of rest, and good night.

Love and blessings,

Renie

Thanks for the update, Patty.
I hope things go well for Abe tomorrow.
Don't take any chances, stay home if it even looks like ice. They will take good care of Abe in the hospital.
I hope you sleep well tonight.

Oh, those icy roads...how well I remember those days when we lived in PA! You be careful now! Won't be long, and he'll be back home! The main thing is that he is okay and doing well. But we all feel that we need to be there every day. Thinking of you!!!
