Friday's QUOTES THAT MAKE YOU THINK

This week we focus on Chinese Proverbs

For most of us, it's a time for us to get together and talk about our past, present , and future. The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China. It's very much like Christmas or Thanksgiving in the United States.- Feng Niu

- A man who has committed a mistake and doesn't correct it is committing another mistake.- Confucius

- A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.

- Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

- He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

- If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.

- When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other.

- The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.

- A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

- If you bow at all, bow low.

- A smile will gain you ten more years of life.

- A fall into a ditch makes you wiser.

- Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without one.

- Study without reflection is a waste of time; reflection without study is dangerous.- Confucius

Wishing you all a great weekend.

VERY TRUE PATTY

the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.

Have a Nice week end

How true!!! I just noiticed the new pics on your sidebar! They are all just beautiful, Patty! You were such a cute baby!!! Your family photos are just great! Isn't it nice to have them so you can see how everyone grew! I didn't know you had a sister by the name of Nancy. So sorry to hear that she has passed.

Love all the quotes, Patty. My favorite one is about a smile adding ten years to your life.

Greg came today and we worked hard. He is such a great help to me. Then he took me out to dinner tonight.

Thank you for your kind comment on my ice storm post.

Have a good night, Patty.

Dear Patty ~~ Great quotes that make a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing them. Thank you so much for your concern and prayers for rain for us that would be such a help to the fire fighters. Sorry you were talking to yourself at the elephant joke.
I didn't expect that ending either.
My son, John will be on his way home and probably get here late tomorrow (Sun.) He met his first granddaughter and sw two of his daughters. The doggies and I are getting on well, Take care my dear friend. Sleep well.
Love, Merle.

Dear Patty ~~ I thought I left a reply here earlier - try again. Thank you for your comments and concern for our fire devastation. The fires are still burning, but not near homes or people.
WE hope there is no wind changes to alter that. I smiled at you talking to yourself at the elephant story because I do that a lot. Mainly trying to motivate myself into doing something.
The doggies and I are getting on really well and I expect John will be home by tomorrow night
He has met his first granddaughter and saw two of his daughters. We are still praying for rain here. Take great care, my dear friend.
Love, Merle.
