GO FIGURE

Just saw this in our morning paper.

16 arrested in fight at nonviolence concert

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Montgomery County police say 16 people were arrested after a fight broke out during a concert held to promote nonviolence and to remember a Silver Spring teen killed last year.

The free Stop the Violence youth concert was held Saturday night on Ellsworth Street in downtown Silver Spring in memory of 14-year-old Montgomery Blair High School student Tai Lam, who was shot to death in November.

Police say fighting broke out near the stage toward the end of the concert and at least one person resisted arrest. Police say 16 adults and juveniles were arrested for offenses such as assault and disorderly conduct.

Unbelievable! Fights seem to be more and more normal these days. Patty, I tried to comment on the beautiful butterfly and the double Iris but I can't find a place on Abe's blog to do so.

So much said for a 'non-violence' concert, huh? What is wrong with young people nowdays, anyhow!!! I am so glad I grew up back in the older (and better) days, aren't you?

Beggars Belief!!!

How sad that it all turned into this. I am afraid it happens all over, there are always some who are looking for a fight.

True story? That's what I get for rarely watching the news. That one would be one to grab the headlines. Odd. Now I have to go see what the news reporters are saying about it.

I know every time we pick up our paper someone was either killed, beat up, shot or stabbed. This is not in our town but a neighboring city, about 22 miles away. Seems viplence is a way of life in some cities.

I guess that just goes to show you that people are not perfect and when the hormones flow they go nuts.
