You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point...
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last three winners of the American Idol
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel, appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes or scholars whose stories have inspired you. Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care. Counting the scholars who have influenced you and reminding you to appreciate those around you.

How true!
The things and people that stick in one's mind, prove to be the most important in the long run. Good Proverb Patty.
Love Granny
Isn't this the truth!! Wonderful reminder.

So very true! I am not sure I really appreciated knowing this until I was past 40 or 50 though.
That is so true! You brought back many long forgotten memories with this post today. Memories of wonderful teachers and friends. "Thanks For The Memories" ;)

It is a perfect post. Everyone who reads it will reflect on the words and remember all the people who did make a difference in their lives. I will never forget Miss Brown.
I will never forget you. You certainly made a big difference in my life.
I can remember most of the people that have come to help and guide me along the way. Hope you have a great week. Looks like you lost that writers block, ha ha.
In answer to your question: Who do I think will go next on Dancing.....the Stars. After Steve'O went, I think they all have a chance, that is if Cheryl and her guy mess up, which doesn't seem likely.
Good Afternoon dear Patty ~~ You are my #4. You always make me feel loved and special.
I got your card today, and it brought a smile to my face.

PS. I think that the football player Lawrence will be the next one to go, on Dancing with the Stars.
Very true, but I hate to say that unless more people like you remind the world of these facts, we will keep living by the rule of, "Its all about me", and never accomplish what we want or be truly happy.
Too bad for us.
