The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest, said, "It was a good idea to replace the first four pews with plush bucket theater seats. It worked like a charm. The front of the church always fills first now."
The young priest nodded, and the old priest continued, "And you told me adding a little more beat to the music would bring young people back to church, so I supported you when you brought in that rock'n'roll gospel choir.
Now our services are consistently packed to the balcony."
"Thank you, Father," answered the young priest. "I am pleased that you are open to the new ideas of youth."
"All of these ideas have been well and good," said the elderly priest, "but I'm afraid you've gone too far with the drive-thru confessional."
"But, Father," protested the young priest, "my confessions and the donations have nearly doubled since I began that!"
"Yes," replied the elderly priest, "and I appreciate that. But the flashing neon sign, 'Toot 'n Tell or Go to Hell' cannot stay on the church roof."

Fear of God is always important.
I love this joke! I heard it many times as a child.
There was even a little drive-in type restaurant called "Toot 'n Tell" located in one of the smaller towns close to where I grew up, so it always tied in nicely with this joke!
Hope you have a blessed day.
Patty
The idea of theater seats is a good one but how will be get them to kneel at the kneeling rail. LOL
Peace
I love it!
Another good one..I mean great one!! I like the idea of front rows with plush seats!!! Nice, lol!
Toot and tell or go to hell is good news.
Like this post, as I recall all the pews were hard and very uncomfortable, our pastor told us it was to make you sit up and take notice, if you had to wiggle around to get comfortable, then you would not fall asleep. Thank you for coming by, have a great Sunday.
This is really sooo funny! I had to laugh out loud!
I thought it was quite funny, too. I wonder if I copy and paste and print this joke out and send it to our pastor, anonymously, of course, if he would find it funny? Haha. He might.
Have a good evening, Patty.
Toot n' tell ha ha. Hilarious!

Wonderful and fantastic post. It is funny as well and I enjoyed very much.
Dear Patty ~ I really liked this joke
and had a giggle over the young priest's improvements nut "Toot and Tell or Go to Hell" was just too much.
Glad you liked the flowers, the hot
weather has knocked them about, but they have been nice. Poor Ole thought he was going to be shot as well as his mule.
I hope you have a great week, my friend, Love, Merle.
Hahahaaa...that is hilarious. I'm going to have to pass this one on to my darling husband. (heehee)
