Kids Say The Darnedest Things

Elementary Science

These were actual things that kids have said about our various phenomena of the world...you gotta love them!

*Question: What is one horsepower? Answer: One horsepower is the amount of energy it takes to drag a horse 500 feet in one second.

*Talc is found on rocks and on babies.

*The law of gravity says it's not fair jumping up without coming back down.

*When they broke open molecules, they found they were only stuffed with atoms. But when they broke open atoms, they found them stuffed with explosions.

*Rainbows are just to look at, not to really understand.

*While the earth seems to be knowingly keeping its distance from the sun, it is really only centrificating.

*Someday we may discover how to make magnets that can point in any direction.

*South America has cold summers and hot winters, but somehow they still manage.

*Most books now say our sun is a star. But it still knows how to change back into a sun in the daytime.

*A vibration is a motion that cannot make up its mind which way it wants to go.

*There are 26 vitamins in all, but some of the letters are yet to be discovered. Finding them all means living forever.

*There is a tremendous weight pushing down on the center of the Earth because of so much population stomping around up there these days.

*Lime is a green-tasting rock.

*Many dead animals in the past changed to fossils while others preferred to be oil.

*Genetics explain why you look like your father and if you don't why you should.

How adorable! Kids are so great--to see the world from their perspective is delightful.

We were at my younger sister's house and my tiny niece came trundling through. She pointed out the bathroom door and said, "That's Dadoo's bathroom." Then she added, "He lives in there."

(guffaw!)

Dear Patty ~~ I have caught up with reading your posts and some good ones there too. I hope you and the family had a great Christmas and are now ready for New Year. 2010 is almost here already. Let's hope it's a good one with health, happiness and a bit of prosperity added.
That was nice of you and Abe to try to help me with my blog problems but Peter usually can fix things for me.
Poor Tiger Woods, but he deserves all he gets, bad enough if it was one girl, but all those. He has ruined his reputation and lost his family. Thanks for the cards and e mails you have sent. Take care, my friend, Happy New Year,Love, Merle

A day when my first son was little he went with his father for buying some food while I took care of his little brother. I gave my ex-husband a banknote. When they went back home my son gave me the rest of the money back in telling me : "look at Mom, Dad has bought some money".
