2. Roy Rogers was Gene's replacement when Gene entered the service.

4. Along with Oakley Haldeman, Gene wrote Here Comes Santa Claus, and he was first to record and popularize Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.

My brother was a big Autry fan and I was a huge Rogers fan. Many a sibling war was started over who was best.
I didn't know any of these Gene Autry facts.
Didn't know Roy Rogers was Gene's replacement. I liked Roy Rogers more than Autry, in the movies, but loved Rudolph the Red-Nosed Raindeer, and have a very old record of it stashed somewhere. He was a very talented man, but Roy was better looking! LOL
